Requisitos sanitarios para la importación de mascotas y animales de compañía

El animal o los animales deberán estar amparados por un Certificado Estatal e Internacional de Salud para Animales Domésticos de los Estados Unidos de América, el cual debe  ser preparado por su veterinario.

El certificado debe cumplir con los siguientes requisitos:

El animal debe haber sido examinado y vacunado 60 días antes de la fecha de embarque contra las siguientes enfermedades:

Perros

A)     Distemper

B)     Hepatitis canina

C)     Leptosirosis

D)     Parvovirosis

E)     Rabia

F)     Parainfluenza

Gatos

A)     Panleucoopenia felina

B)     Calicivirosis

C)     Rinotraqueitis

D)     Leucemia felina

E)     Rabia ( animales mayores de 3 meses) 

En cada caso, se deberá hacer constar lo siguiente:

* La fecha de la inmunización, tipo y marca del producto utilizado

* Que el animal ha sido examinado y eventualmente tratado contra parásitos externos e internos en los 30 días previos a la fecha de embarque.

* Que el animal ha sido inspeccionado e identificado en el momento de su embarque por un médico veterinario oficial, quien lo ha encontrado en condición normal de salud, sin presentar tumoraciones, heridas frescas  o en proceso de cicatrización, ni signo alguno de enfermedades cuarentenales o transmisibles o presencia de ectoparásitos.

El animal deberá ser colocado en jaulas o cajas especiales que fueron lavadas y desinfectadas antes de ser utilizadas.

El Certificado debe tener el nombre completo del veterinario oficial que firma, con la fecha y el día que lo emite. Posteriormente, este documento debe ser certificado por el Departamento de Agricultura e Inspección de Plantas del Estado donde reside.

Dicho Certificado no requiere legalización consular.

En Lima deberá presentar la documentación referida en la Oficina del Ministerio de Agricultura del Aeropuerto y cancelar S/. 106.60 (nuevos soles).

Sanitary requirements to export pets small animals

The animals must be accompanied by a United States Interstate and International Certificate of Health examination for Small Animals issued and signed by a licensed veterinarian.

The certificate shall contain the name and address of the owner, and complete identification of the animal (name, breed, sex and age). In addition the certificate shall show that:

The animal must have been examined and vaccinated 60 days before the date of shipment against the following diseases:

Dogs

a)    Distemper
b)    Carre Disease

c)    Leptospirosis
d)    Parvovirus
e)    Rabbis
f)     Parainfluenza

Cats

a)    Panleucoopenia Feline

b)    Calicivirosis

c)    Rinotraqueitis

d)    Leukemia Feline

e)    Rabbis

The following facts shall be stated:

* The rabies vaccination certificate, which should include date of vaccination, product name and serial number, must accompany the health certificate.

* That the animal was examined and eventually treated for any external or internal diseases within 30 days of departure.

* That the animal has been examined and identified at the time of the shipment by a veterinary medical officer, and that is found in a normal health condition, with no lumps, fresh wounds or healing or signs of diseases or transmissible quarantinable or presence of ectoparasites.

The health certificate must be dated and signed with a print name by a licensed veterinarian. The veterinarian’s license number must appear on the health certificate. And it needs to be endorsed by the United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Inspection Services http://www.aphis.usda.gov/

Consular certification is not required.

You must submit the certificate upon arrival the Peruvian customs. A fee of $106.60 nuevos soles (Peruvian national currency)  will be required.
